22 November 2012  “Growth prospects to 2017 are expected to be weak”:  insight from the EIF World Pump Market Report 2012. The report is available from Europump National Associations.

“Growth prospects to 2017 are expected to be weak owing to the impact of indebtedness in the US, Western Europe and Japan, coupled with a slowdown in the Chinese growth rate” says Guy Van Doorslaer, Europump Secretary General. “This is just one insight from the report which features many more on the world pump market. EIF produces an updated report every year, providing a very detailed picture of the pump industry and its markets. Europump is pleased to offer this year’s edition to its members.”

21 November 2012 The EUROPUMP ATEX Guideline, Part II (application to the pump industry of the European Commission Guidelines on Directive 94/9/EC) is available on the Europump website.

“The guideline had to be revised in order to align it with the new Machinery Directive, especially chapter 8” says Guy Van Doorslaer, Europump Secretary General. “This guide is part of the Europump effort to help the pump industry and its customers to understand and apply the “ATEX” Directive. It is important for the Europump Technical Commission to keep up with the latest technical and legal developments.”

30 October 2012 The Guideline on the application of Commission Regulation 641/2009/EC and the amendment 622/2012/EC with regard to ecodesign requirements for circulators is available on the Europump website

“This guideline is again proof of the hard work done within Europump Committees during the last few months” says Guy Van Doorslaer, Europump Secretary General. “I would like to thank in particular Dr Niels Bidstrup who has been very active in this work. Thanks to him and everyone’s commitment, companies can now better understand the ecodesign requirements for circulators. The deadline of 2013 is approaching and the aim of this guideline is to clarify possible questions when implementing these ecodesign requirements.”

03 October 2012 The New EUROPUMP Guideline on the application of COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) No 547/2012 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for water pumps is available on the Europump website

“This guide is crucial for companies in the water pump business” says Frank Ennenbach, Europump Standards Commission Chairperson. “Thanks to everyone’s commitment and hard work we have created this important document. We trust that this guideline will help companies better understand what the Regulation means for them and what they need to comply with.”  This Regulation mainly concerns manufacturers of water pumps placing these products on the European market. However customers may also be affected. It is the task of the guideline to clarify questions which may arise with the entry into force of the water pumps Regulation EU 547/2012.

27 September 2012 The New EUROPUMP guide “Improvement of reliability of Pumps by Condition Monitoring- Consequences for MTBR/MTBF” is available on the Europump website

The Europump Technical Commission has just published its guide on condition monitoring. It is available for free on the Europump website. “We trust that this guide will contribute to a better awareness of condition monitoring in the world of pumps, and that the added value of condition monitoring will benefit both manufacturers and users!” says Jean-Claude Bouricet, Chairman of the Europump Technical Commission, “I thank all Commission members for their input and hard work and especially Giancarlo Cicatelli who did most of the synthesis work.“

18 September 2012 Europump publishes on its website the “fingerprints”-efficiency graph- to support manufacturers with the implementation of Regulation (EU) No 547/2012 of 25 June 2012 and esp. Annex II, 2, 15.

"The Europump Standards Commission worked hard on the subject to help companies with the application of the EU Regulation 547/2012 “ says Markus Teepe, Member of the Standard Committee, ecodesign expert. “ We monitored and commented during the whole legislative process and now that the Regulation is published, we made the efficiency graphs available to support pump manufacturing companies in applying the law”.

22 February 2012 European Commission kick-off meeting for ecodesign measures hosted by Europump on 6 March 2012 in Brussels

“This is the first time that Europump has the opportunity to host a Kick-Off Meeting for new ErP working Lots, “ says Frank Ennenbach, Europump Standards Commission Chairperson. “ Europump is looking forward to meeting environmental NGOs, the consultant and the European Commission. 16 February 2012 Europump supports the “Making it Happen for Water” project

“We have decided to support the Orgalime Bridgehead project “Making it Happen for Water” says Dr Sönke Brodersen, Europump President. “We know that water and pumps are natural partners and think that this link should be made obvious to EU decision-makers. Water is a key resource for society and the economy and the European Pump Industry has a major role to play in this area. As a Platform open to associations and companies, it will be an excellent tool to ensure that the equipment supply industry is included on the Brussels water agenda.”
